Sherri Shepherd, funny woman and personality on the View has had a hard life. Her mother died of diabetes at the age of 41, her husband cheated on her with another woman and although food was her God, she soon learned that the big D was about to hit her home territory.
Yes, that is right. Although for 20 years Sherri was told she was pre-diabetic, she continued to stuff and stuff some more all the food in the world she could eat. Like many of us, the feeling of invincibility was with her. Then one day she gets a wake up call and was scared to death. Sherri had diabetes. She knew then she had to make some serious changes and she did. But was the new diet Sherri Wrote about in her book, Plan D, a life saving book or was it the same old same old book we have heard before? Sherry's Plan 1. Watch Your Sugars - Daaaa - Old News Sherry, tell me something I do not know already. The basic diet plan we have heard for hears tells us no sugar, no white flour and no packaged anything. 2. Reform Your Relationship with Food - Daaaa - Again Sherri, old news. To lose weight you must now realize that you are what you eat, but look I understand you are trying hard to sell your book. 3. Exercise is Not an Option - DAAAAAA - Oh please Sherri you can do better than this. |
She goes on to say that you should quit using your exercise bike to hang your clothes on. I have to admit I am guilty here. Go into my laundry room and you will see my clothes hanging on my exercise bike. She wants you to realize your assets and that you have to look at your good points. One of the best things she says is find a tough doc. This is something we give her 10 points for. You do not want to go hear someone say to you, "Eat Something." You want to go find someone tell you, "Damit woman you are going to die like your mom did if you don't change."
Change she did. The before and after pictures of Sherri are remarkable. Check her out here. The truth is I just plain like Sherri Shepherd and I would probably buy her book because she has had a hard life. You may all remember the elaborate wedding she had with the bozo she married. She was so happy till she found out he cheated on her and she had to raise her son herself. Sherri is a funny lady and a bonus on the View. So for my two cents, I vote "BUY the BOOK." Does Sherri give you some life saving tips, daaaaa, no. She gives you the basic things you know already: Eat smaller meals, cut back on sugar, eat low fat, exercise till you drop. So what is so great about the book? It is a reminder that you too are not invincible and just maybe some day the doctor will tell you too you have diabetes or something worst. Prevention is the key my friends. So here's to you Sherri Shepherd. You look just FAB!!!!! |
